Charity / Community Services
With the view to serve the underprivileged sections of the society, doctor eye institute started a full fledged charitable wing from 1st December 2008.
The charitable wing of the institute is functional on all week days between 10 am to 1 pm. All the ophthalmic diagnostic as well as surgical procedures are performed at highly subsidized rates without compromising on the quality of eye care services.
As a part of community services, the institute regularly conducts 100% free eye check up camps at various areas, societies and schools for early identification and treatment of treatable blindness.
Various eye screening camps like cataract, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy etc are also regularly conducted at hospital premises for thorough check up and timely diagnoses and treatment.
Institute also organises various eye care awareness talks in various societies, schools, colleges etc to bring awareness and educate the masses about eye problems.
Because of the generous financial contribution that the hospital receives from its donors and patrons, ophthalmic surgeries are performed free of cost in many patients who cannot even afford the nominal charges.
The institute has tied up with various social organisations and NGOs who regularly refer their patients for quality eye care. Some of the organisations associated with us are :
- Jivan Jyot Charitable Trust
- Astitiva foundation
- Slum Rehabilitation Society
- Annapurna Mahila Mandal
- Janvi Charitable Trust
- Jan Jagruti Kendra
- Keshav Gore Smarak trust
- Creative Handicrafts
- Sanjeeveini Charitable Trust
