Questions about LASIK
IS LASIK PAINFUL?
The procedure is done using topical
anaesthetic eye drops and hence
painless. However you may experience
some discomfort and watering for the first
24 hours after surgery. It will ease after a
day or two. Pain killers are prescribed for
pain and discomfort.
WILL MY NUMBER BECOME ZERO?
The aim of the treatment is to remove
dependence on glasses or contact lenses.
In many cases they are eliminated.
DO I HAVE TO UNDERGO ANY TESTS
BEFORE LASIK?
Yes. Preoperative corneal and retinal
evaluations would have to be carried out
They can be fixed by taking prior
appointment at Doctor Eye Institute.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO
RECOVER?
It takes 2-3 days to recover and
vision will improve thereafter.
WHEN CAN I RESUME MY NORMAL
ACTIVITIES?
Normal activities can be done after 4-5
days. However swimming and water
sports can be resumed after 3 months.
WHEN CAN I HAVE MY OTHER
EYE DONE?
The other eye can be done either in the
same sitting or after 3 days.
